Location: Vancouver

Hours: Full-Time. 40 Hours a week. Weekly Rotating shifts

What you’ll do

Electrician carries out maintenance and repair work to electrical or/and mechanical installations or equipment (such as production machinery, rotating equipment, electrical installations, transport systems, buildings, facilities and constructions), so that technical assignments are carried out on time, safely and according to specifications to support the optimal running of production 

  • Inspections and preventative/planned maintenance by checking and assessing the condition of handling equipment, pneumatic, mechanical/electrical, of grinding, mixing and pressing lines, bag filling, feed bulk loading and weighbridges, based on maintenance schedules / checklists.

  • Malfunctions and defects / repairs: Troubleshoots malfunctions and defects in equipment, machinery, measuring and control systems and other parts of the installation. Assesses the nature and extent of the problem and determines whether instantly repair is necessary or possible, assesses

  • Modifications and improvements: Carries out modifications and overhaul work based on work orders and / or instructions from supervisor. Proposals for improvements in equipment, machinery and other areas based on expertise and experience in maintenance. Works on preventive maintenance programs and planned maintenance activities of more extensive and / or complex nature (i.e. during maintenance stops) and may supervise technicians of third parties.

  • Reporting: Logs all maintenance activities in the appropriate maintenance management systems to have complete administration and insight in the state and history of all equipment, files all technical data.

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations

  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components, test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance, maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors. Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.

Who we’re looking for

  • Completion of Electrical apprenticeship (Red Seal Industrial) certified in Canada

  • Minimum two years’ experience as Electrician in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work in shifts. 6.00 AM to 2.30 Pm/ 2.00 Pm to 10.30 Pm (Rotating Weekly)

You’ll also need

  • Ability to operate under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate and deal with various stakeholders with tact and diplomacy.

  • Adaptable to a flexible work style and willingness to assist other functions where needed.
